your work throw 40 repeat row 30 a chain

one back loop half double crochet across

stitch and then ten

to begin row 41 chain one that gloop

half double crochet across until you

have five stitches left in the row

half double crochet into the next stitch

you’ll have 46 stitches in total turn

your work and then row 42 is just like

row 38 chain one back loop half double

crochet across

half double crochet into the last stitch

and then ten

to start row 43 chain one back loop half

double crochet across until you have 3

stitches left

half double crochet into the next stitch

you should have 44 stitches in total

turn your work and then we’re just going

to repeat rows 42 and 43

at the end of row 45 you’ll have 42

stitches in total fast enough and you

finished your first body piece repeat

these steps for the second body piece

place the two body pieces on top of each

other

whip stitch the straps together

you

and then whipstitch down the size of the

tank top

once you’ve served both sides together

we’re now going to crochet at the edging

insert your crochet hook along the inner

edge of the strap the Gulf of the edging

is to smooth out the neckline and create

a round curve

I’m using this white piece of yarn to

help me see where I want the path of the

stitches to go

secure your yarn and pull up a loop

to begin around one of the edging chain

one and it counts as a stitch if you

want you can place the stitch marker in

the first stitch to help you find it

later along the edge of the strap we’re

going to place one slip stitch in each

stitch

you

once you reach the decreases I found

that the best way to smooth out the

neckline is to not place stitches on the

tips of the corners but rather insert

your crochet hook into the stitch

instead of along the edge

and don’t worry if you can see small

bumps peeking out behind your slip

stitches the tips of the cornice will be

hidden in the second round of edging

silligan don’t place your stitches on

the corners space your stitches out as

evenly as possible to create a smooth

curved line

and this is what your neckline should

start to look like the slip stitches are

forming a smooth curve and again don’t

worry about the small bumps peeking out

behind the stitches

so here you can see that on the right

side we’ve done the slip stitch edging

on the decreases we’re now in the center

of the body panel and we’re going to

repeat the slip stitch edging on the

increases

so you’ll be doing the exact same thing

spacing slip stitches evenly along the

edge of the neckline focusing on

creating a smooth curve of stitches and

don’t play stitches on the tips of the

corners

so this is what the neckline looks like

with one round of slip stitches

continue to slip stitch up the size of

the straps and down the other side of

the neckline

when you reach the chain one at the

beginning of the round slip stitch to

join

Daniel Ecch

to begin round 2 of the edging chain one

and it counts as a stitch we’re going to

back loop slip stitch into each stitch

make sure that you’re working into the

slip stitches not the half double

crochets

rotate your work so the top of the slip

stitches are facing you

and you can see that the slip stitches

are on top of the half double crochets

and then make sure to only pick up the

back loop of the slip stitch

place one back loop slip stitch in each

stitch all the way around

so remember that the wrong side of your

tank top is facing you and when you flip

your tank top over you’ll see a nice

smooth crocheted edge

here you can see what the top of the

strap looks like with the second round

of crochet edging compared to only one

round of the crochet edging

and as we work along the decreases

you’ll see the magic of the edging start

to smooth out the neckline

so the right side is facing us and you

can see what two rounds of edging looks

like on the right compared to one round

of edging on the left

continue to back loop slip stitch all

the way around until the first chain

when you reach the chain one slip stitch

to join and then fasten off

and once you’ve finished the edging this

is what the round neck should look like

and then we’re going to repeat round 1

and round 2 of the edging on the

armholes

secure your yarn and pull up a loop

chain one to begin

and then slip stitch evenly along the

edge taking care to create a smooth

curve of stitches along the increases

and decreases

once you finish your AJ within all of

your ends and you finish your ribbed

crochet tank top
